Sandy Stapleton, the owner and director, has been in the childcare education business since 1985. After graduating from high school, she received her BS in Education from Bridgewater State College. She worked in public schools, married her husband Ron, and was blessed with 3 beautiful children. In 1985, after the birth of her first 2 children, she decided to undertake opening her own center, thus being able to care for her own children and starting what turned out to be a lifelong love – giving parents a place where they knew their children would be cared for, loved, nurtured, kept safe, and educated in a beautiful, home-like environment.
Starting initially as a “family” day care, she expanded the business to incorporate the entire building and hired Gina Melo, who has been a part of the Creative family since 1992. As a licensed facility specializing in preschool age care, our reputation as a first-class center has been established with the local school systems. Teachers from both Acushnet Elementary and Pulaski School have come to recognize the children who enter the system in kindergarten, with our graduates standing out in readiness and social skills. Her goal is for a parent to leave their child without anxiety or uncertainty, knowing that they have made the best possible decision for their precious child.
Gina Melo, lead teacher / assistant director, has been an employee since 1992. She lives in Acushnet along with her husband and 2 children. She is an outstanding educator, filled with love and compassion for every child. She has a great rapport with the children as well as their parents. Over the years she and Sandy have developed a wonderful working relationship that is apparent to all. Gina is responsible for implementing the curriculum, and together with the rest of the staff insures the safety and overall happiness of the children as well as their families.

“I have wanted to be an elementary school teacher for as long as I can remember. I enjoy watching the transformation from their first day to when they graduate to kindergarten. It is very rewarding to walk in each morning to little voices saying “Miss Kelsey!!” I am a certified preschool teacher and have been working here at CPS since 2012. I currently attend Bridgewater State, where I am working on my BS in elementary education. I am certified in CPR and First Aid as well. I look forward to meeting new smiling faces coming through the doors of Creative Playschool!”

“I have been working here since 2012. I am striving to continue my education as a teacher in order to further guide your preschooler to be an independent and motivated young learner. Being a teacher is a daily reward as I watch each child sprout into their own special uniqueness. Our center is small, thus giving us an opportunity to really get to know and interact with each child and to focus on individual needs. Walking in each morning and seeing all those smiling faces makes it feel like a second “home” to me. “

“I am the mother of two children. I am a fun and patient person and am great with kids! I enjoy working here at CPS and interacting daily with the children brings me great joy. I have always dreamed of having my own day-care someday. I have been here since 2015 working part-time while attending college full time. I am certified as a teacher and am working towards the lead teacher certification to continue my education in childcare.”
